Recs/Review: Some Romhacks
Jun. 14th, 2024 10:51 amI play pokemon romhacks on my phone sometimes and lately (as in the past 3 months go), it's been Pokemon Quarantine Crystal - consistently. I think the devs explain the game better than I could, but I'll try. Note: I have only completed (pretty substantially, including side quests and exploring out-of-the-way areas, but excluding completing the dex) the Johto portion of the journey. I have not visited Kanto to do the 4 gyms currently available and whatever side quests happen in Kanto.
Now that that's over with...
But wait, there's just one last thing! I also played the One Vision romhack of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. I have my own opinions on the writing and characters in the game (which this patch did not change because it's not the point of the hack), but gameplay-wise, I LOVE the One Vision changes. It's challenging, it's still over-the-top tedious in some places (like the original game), BUT it scratches my itch of experimentation between different classes, my menu-ing obsession, and of course, my repressed longing for spreadsheets documenting which fairy in floor #69 of the Palace of the Dead drops the lute you wanted so much.
